Dial Up Internet Access - If you have got a computer with a modem built in or plugged (if it is an external modem, your dialup connection is ready to go as soon as you've signed up with us. In the Internet Connection Wizard, enter your user name and password to access your ISP. Click Next >. 9. In the Internet Connection Wizard, enter a connection name. For example, if you are creating a connection to your ISP you might name your connection Veriuni Dial Up Service.

Windows 95/98/Me: In the Connect To window, enter the user name and password that you use to access your ISP or corporate network, and if desired, click the “Save password” checkbox so that you do not have to re-enter the password every time a connection is made. Click Connect and your Veriuni Dial Up Service handset will begin to dial. Go to Step 8. Windows NT: The Dial-Up Networking window appears. Select your connection from the drop down list (for example, Veriuni Dial Up Service). Verify that the phone number is correct. Click Dial to continue. Best of all, dialup allows you to progress at your own pace, with plans that are tailored to how you use your connection. If you decide later on that you want to upgrade to broadband, you get to keep your dialup connection as a backup.

After joining a Dial Up service, the subscriber chooses a username and password. Once the modem calls the phone number and makes a connection, a "handshake" takes place in which information is exchanged between the computer modem and the remote server. The username and password is supplied by the modem. This grants the user access through the Dial Up gateway to the Internet.

In the Dial-Up Networking window, right click on your new dial-up connection and select Properties. 13. Upon selecting Properties, you will see the window below. Dial Up connection is not expensive but also is the slowest type of Internet access. Due to the limited bandwidth - the ability for the modem of sending / receiveing data - dial-up service can take up to five minutes to download just one megabyte of data. Caching frequently visited sites, and other software tricks and tweaks can speed up the experience of dial-up access in some cases. However, if your main purpose online is multimedia-centric, (music, movies, and graphic-laden websites), dial-up service may be so slow as to be unsatisfactory.

Dialing a Call To place a Dial-Up Data call, you must open the Dial-Up Networking window and select the dial-up connection you created for your Motorola phone. 1.
